THE HISTORY OF MED WEEK
Since 1983, the U.S. President has proclaimed a National MED Week observance to recognize the outstanding achievements of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and to honor those corporations and financial institutions that support minority business development. Annual regional conferences and activities are organized through your local small business development centers and minority business enterprise agencies in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and the Office of Government Contracting and Business Development. These activities culminate at the National MED Week Conference in Washington, D.C. This event provides a unique forum to address the major issues affecting the growth and development of MBEs. |
